Eating Well and Slowing Down in London

Spending three days at COMO Metropolitan London felt like hitting pause in the middle of one of the busiest cities in the world. Tucked just off Hyde Park, the hotel instantly offers a sense of calm and set the tone for a stay focused on slowing down, eating well, and soaking up the city at my own pace.

Mornings started quietly, with soft light filling the room and the city waking up outside. Breakfast quickly became a highlight: fresh, nourishing, and thoughtfully prepared. From delicious tea to healthy, balanced dishes, it was the kind of food that makes you feel energised rather than heavy.

One of the things I loved most was how easy it was to balance relaxation with discovery. After peaceful mornings and moments of rest back at the hotel, I’d head out to wander London’s streets. Hyde Park was right there for slow walks and fresh air, while neighborhoods like Soho, Chelsea, and Notting Hill were just a short journey away. Every day felt unrushed, with time to explore, stops for a bakery, or simply observe the city’s rhythm.

Evenings often ended back at the hotel, unwinding after full days out. The calm atmosphere made it easy to truly switch off, something that doesn’t always come naturally to me in a city this vibrant.
